Profile

The Insolvency and Public Trustee’s Office (IPTO) is an Office under the Ministry of Law. It provides services in:
• Administration of the affairs of individual and corporate insolvencies
• Administration of the estates of deceased persons
• Administration of motor accident compensation claims
• Licensing and regulation of moneylenders & pawnbrokers

Current projects

Volunteers will prepare presentations on the statutory duties and obligations of insolvent persons, and take turns to make these presentations before an audience of insolvent persons every Tuesday at the Insolvency and Public Trustees’ Office. The aim is  to help the insolvent persons to become more aware of the law and to avoid breaching the law inadvertently.

The project is split into three sessions: Jan-Mar, May-July, Aug-Oct.

Previous Projects

In 2006 and 2007, volunteers prepared material on statutory duties and obligations of insolvent persons and took turns to present to an audience of insolvent persons every week at the IPTO Office. The aim was to help the insolvent persons to become more aware of the law and to avoid breaching the law inadvertently.
